Mazda’s CX-70 is a large five-seat SUV with generous legroom, loads of equipment and a supremely comfortable ride. It’s one of four new additions to the brand’s prestige model onslaught, but for a fraction the price of a premium German SUV.
If you need an affordable and extremely good value dual-cab diesel ute with all the features and good-enough performance for a wide range of work, the SsangYong Musso offers insane bang for your buck. But there’s a big caveat to your long-term ownership…
Kia Sportage is an excellent-value medium SUV that can handle both family duties in the suburbs and regional holiday travel. This affordable, reliable and well-equipped five-seater is very comfortable, safe to drive every day on Aussie roads - and now comes in hybrid.
The Kia Cerato is a better-value proposition than most SUVs, which could save you thousands while offering greater space, similar features and reliability as good as any Toyota Corolla or Mazda 3. There’s even an affordable-performance version.
The Mazda CX-80 is yet another seven-seat family SUV that flies in the face of premium-priced German luxury. It offers prestige and power, with a big helping of practicality. But can it represent good value against its rivals?
The soft-roading Subaru Forester packs a punch, and is one of the safest, most practical and capable SUVs on sale today. It’s also a great value, nicely driving and popular five-seater.
The 2026 Ranger Super Duty promises bigger towing and an even bigger price. But exactly what will that mean for you in terms of value, the ownership experience and general functionality?
The CX-60 combines performance, batteries and SUV-luxury to beat Lexus, Mercedes and BMW while Mazda refuses to go fully electric in favour of big inline six-cylinder engines. If your family needs lots of legroom, a big boot, and grunt, the CX-60 needs to go on your shortlist.
The Ford Ranger is the most popular vehicle in this country because it has grunt, great towing ability, a capable drive system, and a host of clever design features. But there are a couple of negatives to consider before dropping your cash on one.
The BYD Shark 6 is the third Chinese ute trying to compete with Ranger, Hilux and Triton. It promises affordability and more power than a Ranger Raptor. But can the Shark 6 really be a better dual-cab ute?
