E-Scooter vs electric car: How to improve your personal mobility (Mearth GTS Max review)
It’s time to pit the car against the disruptive e-scooter. Can you save money, reduce your carbon footprint and enjoy your daily commute?
You want an electric vehicle that can move you effortlessly from A to B, with zero tailpipe emissions, a small pricetag and that looks the goods?
What if I told you there's an EV that you could buy today for well under $3000 which could cut your total vehicular emissions by 25 per cent, could pay for itself in less than eight months, plus you don't have to give up the car you already own?
Does that sound appealing?
The car industry is rushing into electrification and together with various vested interest groups. They're all quite busy ‘educating’ the ignorant about how ‘EV equals good; combustion equals bad’. It’s a simple but deeply flawed message.
It’s just a shame they’re, seemingly, too stupid to design the perfect EV, as I did.
I'm not anti-EV. I drove an EV for a year, it was awesome. EVs are great for clean air in our cities and they're very good for National energy security also, and I did not miss filling up at the servo, not once.
But they are very expensive, EVs, and they really don't help the climate problem all that much.
In this report, I’m going to review the Mearth GTS e-scooter (very carefully, I might add) and simultaneously we’re going to dive into the maths about why, in certain circumstances, these electric vehicles are better forms of personal mobility than the conventional car.
